Each year at my university the 6th week in term 2 (week 22 for us DMU students) is known as Cultural Exchanges week. Although I can’t speak on behalf of other universities, I know that it’s a great opportunity to have guest speakers come in and talk to students. This year despite being swamped with work from every module of mine I managed to squeeze in time to and attend a session with The Apprentice’s Solomon Akthar who came to visit on the 24th February.
At first I thought the talk was just for Business students but hey, I don’t pay 9k for nothing right?
It was interesting to listen to how he started off and life before The Apprentice, considering he is only 24 I found that it was the perfect motivational speech for me that Tuesday morning and a brilliant excuse to get out of bed. Oh and how could I mention how he said that my selfie skills well impeccable…. ok, well maybe not those words exactly but he did say “this is the best selfie of the day” – so thanks Solomon!
